kmxexii A very cool single. Frozen is nice; it's got a good beat and I like the way it uses the vox synths. My favorite, though, is Thawed, a wonderful journey of minimalism where the authors slowly pile on layers like a spring melt building to chords before dropping in the bass and then layering in the percussion and then you realize you're listening to a number one jam. The way these guys maximize the the simple ascending synth line while switching things up shows me that they can really milk a hook. Favorite track: Thawed.

Girlfriend records great as always. Favorite track: Thawed.

Till Dumke This is genuinely good. A modern electronic sound blended with beautiful synths of the 80s. Favorite track: Frozen.

about

Frozen is the second official release from Girlfriend Records and the first to feature label founder Sferro alongside recent signee Johnatron. The single expands on the label's dance leanings; "Frozen" is a huge bit of driving synthpop, featuring huge synths, whirling vocals, and pounding drums. The B-Side, "Thawed", takes a much more hypnotic approach, calling to mind the jamming acid house sounds of the late 1980's.

Press:

"Utilizing the usual sound of 80s influenced synths, from leads to bass and heavy drums, this definite french house track will sound very familiar to your ear especially if you’re listening to french house main acts such as Lifelike, Chris Malinchak or Kris Menace."
-Stoney Roads

"The solid Italo beat and bassline make it unmistakably for the dancefloor, but the lush chords and the haunting vocal, that weaves it’s way in and out of the melodies, give it an otherworldly, dreamlike, quality that sees to wrap you up and sweep you along with it."
