“The vending machine is inspired by memories of growing up in the 80s where luxury lifestyles were being marketed to everyone. Cars, fashion, cigarettes, booze and exciting new products. Being a small child the only item designed for us in the glorious lifestyle boom were soft drinks.
Beautiful people lounging on beaches, sweaty young couples gasping for a drop of cold refreshment, people dancing in the rain in slo mo, radical dudes skateboarding, surfing and generally being awesome in slow motion. All of these wonderful moments were available in a small simple can packed with sugar and promise.
We grow older and that life never quite transpired. All our teeth rotted out and fell by the wayside, like the promises of our carbonated soda dreams. But nostalgia is almost as sweet a drug and we can go back there, even for a brief moment by grabbing a cold one and kicking back to listen to “The Vending Machine”. Enjoy the long hot summer that will never end, feel the sparkling ice cold tingle of the past and taste the refreshing flavour of Muscle Pony.”
